2023 Chester PA Artists & TKSHS Art Department Collaboration

On January 16, 2023, CTED partnered with three artists from Chester, Pennsylvania, a predominantly African American community in the United States, led by Devon Walls, to promote cultural exchange and community development in Kumawu, Ghana. The artists collaborated with teachers and students at Tweneboa Kodua Senior High School (TKSHS) to create paintings celebrating creativity, culture, and shared heritage.

The artworks were also exhibited in communities where CTED Art Galleries are located, attracting residents who came to view and appreciate the paintings. Through this initiative, CTED is using art to connect communities across continents, inspire young people, strengthen cultural ties between Ghana and the United States, and bring hope and opportunity to underserved communities through creativity and education.

This collaboration was fostered by Prof. Yaw Nyarko.
